The panoramic views of Mount’s Bay shelters wildlife on the coast and in the waters big and small. Seals and kestrels come in to hunt around Cudden Point and we may even see an adder bathing in the sun on the path.

Adventure over azure blue coves and admire St Michael's Mount.

A picnic of coastal and countryside scenes from the hilltops of Perranuthnoe Village to the shingle sands of Stackhouse Cove. This route journeys over old fields, through woodland and follows an iconic coastline.

Discover 'lovable rogues' and Cornish smuggling stories.

Giants, ancient forests, the King of Prussia, and marine algae specialists. With one of the first chartered towns in the UK down the road, these shores have been bustling since prehistoric times. There is so much to tell!

Walking Itinerary: What do you need?

For your own safety there are mandatory kit/items for each tour.  You will be refused to attend the experience if you are not prepared. You will also receive a recommended kit list. Please ask if you have any questions.

Mandatory Itinerary:

  • Supportive footwear suitable for walking – e.g. no flip flops, no stilettos, no crocs.
  • Minimum of 500ml of fluid per person (water preferably) to keep hydrated & protect against sunstroke/heatstroke.
  • A small snack for energy depletion emergencies – suited to your own dietary requirements.
  • Weather and climate appropriate protection/clothing according to forecast.
    • Sun Cream/UV protective Clothing
    • Waterproof Clothing
    • Thermal Clothing

Please ensure you are confident carrying the weight of your backpack/bag.

Recommended:

  • Supportive Day Backpack and/or Dry Bag.
  • Hats, long sleeves, long pants or sunscreen, should be considered for protection against heat, cold, sun or insect exposure.
  • Light Lunch or Snacks – i.e sandwiches, wraps, cereal bars
  • Hot or cold flask of drink
  • Camera for photos

Optional Recommended Swim/Dip Kit: walking and dipping is a skill!

  • Swimming Costume/Trunks.
  • Neoprene Clothing – Boots, gloves, hats, wetsuit (make sure you can carry).
  • Plastic bag/drybag (to isolate wetness).
  • Large compact microfiber towel – to dry and change under.
  • Small compact microfiber towel – to stand on whilst changing.
  • Hot drink to warm innards after dipping.

RISK
Cornish Explorer walking tours, experiences and organised walks carry potential risks that we cannot entirely eliminate.

Participants are responsible for their own actions and their involvement in the activity.

Cornish Explorer will manage risks during the tour which may result in circumstantial route changes or in severe weather, rescheduling the walk entirely.

RULES
Participants must comply with the rules of the guided walk set out in the document. We may terminate a Participant’s involvement in the activity (without refund) if they fail to comply.

HEALTH & FITNESS TO PARTICIPATE

  • You should be fit enough to complete the walk considering distance, elevation and terrain without causing yourself mental stress or physical injury.

We are not qualified to express an opinion that you are fit to safely participate. You must take sole responsibility for your own fitness capabilities and medical conditions (if any) and you must obtain professional or specialist advice from your doctor before participating. You must consider factors such as environmental changes and terrain underfoot in all seasons.

As you are purchasing tickets for an event, we are not obliged to provide a refund in the event of cancellation on your part.

We will however refund any cancellation made 3 weeks before the time of the tour. This refund will be for the full price of the booking. We will not offer partial refunds.

It is not possible to make changes to existing bookings, unless Cornish Explorer receives notification 48 hours in advance, in writing, to kate@cornishexplorer.co.uk.

Otherwise, if you are unable to attend, we can transfer your tickets to a tour at a different time or date (subject to availability), or to another person, provided the transfer is for the equal number of attendees and confirmation in writing by Cornish Explorer LTD.
